I have one (silver color) installed right here in my station. I got it so
visitors (newbies, wannabies, hope-I-can-interest-them-bies) could listen
to the RX audio while I operated. Works fine for that. HOWEVER, ...

When I transmit (100W), the HA-400 overloads and generates audio garbage
that would make it unsuitable for SO2R recording.

That is with my one-dipole-and-antenna tuner station, with a bad RF ground
system (gotta go with what I have; not gonna rebuild the house for ham
radio). On some bands I get a bit of cross-hatching on the VGA monitors,
and I get get some flickering of the LED indicator lights on my homebrew
control panel..

If your station has real matched antennas and real RF grounds, you might
not have the overload problem.
