I disagree... while I don’t often use the real time online scores I completely
see the concept behind it. I also see what they are doing with the plaques...
at the very least they are putting up money and their time to encourage the use
of additional mediums to encourage competition.
While some don’t want to share their progress for whatever reasons, others do.
Some of the best contestors in the world regularly are seen on these
scoreboards, so its definitely not a cheaters platform or full of those who
“can’t”.
As for 3830, one of the largest CW Clubs uses that forum to calculate their
awarded medals mailed out to their members every year. In effect the awards
calculation is already happening there... what’s to say those members really
did or didn’t make their needed ten QSO’s... there isn’t even a log check for a
contest manager to verify.
This is all about honor and nobody is getting rich off of this sport... usually
they are putting up a lot of lost income opportunity and material costs.
Some people like to share their experiences in life with others in ways that
others might not get or don’t like...

Victor and team this is a silly award,

We now have a cheat's contest and no reason for contest managers.

Why I look forward to seeing previously DQ'd callsigns battling it out for the
online scoreboard award. I am sorry, but this is not what contesting is about
and more about technology because we can...

Good luck with your programme but it is not contesting - how about we nominate
a CW Skimmer station for SOAB?

That was sarcasm, but I have no doubt you will consider that as a category ☹

With all due respect, what's next?

Trophies for highest claimed score on 3830scores.com?

Best post-test 3830 comments?

I voted "no".

Sorry - I just don't "get it".
