You could do a ULS license search on the FCC website where you just type in
each prefix, and see how many licenses have been issued for that prefix.
There are some Alaska prefixes which have never been issued. WL3 used to
be one.
You could also check the past contest results for the WPX contests to see
what prefixes were entered in each contest.
