Thank you, Dave.

Good to see there is still some common sense around here.

I went to Dayton/Xenia this year not knowing what to expect. I was delighted by the fact that the acrimony we frequently see on this list was nowhere to be found at the Crowne Plaza and 'environs'.

I wonder if the 'troublemakers' just behave themselves when face to face with other people, or they don't attend these kinds of events.

FT8/FT4 was a non issue. Actually, when the audience was asked about FT8, a substantial number indicated they used the mode, and there were no grumblings.

The CTU covered the new modes, and the presentations were all well attended.

This list does not represent the majority of contesters, or at least those that are prepared to show up at events such as the Hamvention. Talk has always been cheap, the internet made it cheaper, that's all.

I also received at least one private email in the past, of questionable value to be charitable about it. I wonder if there is going to be another one after this post. LOL

You're talking to a wall. ...always does this stuff ... if you don't view ham radio the way he does you aren't doing ham radio.

p.s. I can't wait to see what kind of private message ... will send me this time.
