Speaking as another who was 99% S&P last weekend, I can really identify with
Mike's comments. I had the same experience several times and REALLY appreciated
the running station's patience in sending me my report twice or even three
times.

On a slightly different tack, I was trying hard to get through the pile up to
work one of the ZM's early Sunday morning and, having finally got through heard
them send the first three letters of my call when, zap, the house/shack power
failed (one of seven such failures in 90 minutes; all very short but enough to
be a real pain and probably a consequence of the severe weekend storms!). A
minute or two later everything is back up and running and wow, the ZM is still
there and this time responded to my first call. I cannot remember the call, but
THANK YOU!

Duncan, G3WZD

Here's another view from somebody who was 100% S&P last weekend. Say
somebody I need as a double-mult is calling CQ, and I put my callsign in the
pile-up to work him. While the pile-up is still calling, the needed station
comes back with "W7VO 5911". I can't hear him come back to me over the pile-up,
and can only hear him when the pile up dies down. Then he comes back with a
"W7VO 5911" a second time, or maybe even a third time, and I finally can give
him my exchange. I feel bad that he had to come back to me several times, but
it's not my fault the lids just keep calling over the QSO. I really APPRECIATE
that the op stuck with me to make the QSO. That happened to me several times
last weekend.
