Ah, the allusion to the importance of records, the eternal enemy of needed change to contesting scoring rules by those to whom those rules give massive advantages. Monumental changes in radio conditions, the many crutches that technology provides to make those records easily broken, make most records meaningless! BTW -- 1.75 dB is significant, but to call it "huge" is a bit overboard! Huge is the 25 dB difference between 5W and 1,500W.
