I haven't looked at the online scoreboards much, but recently took a look since
I am thinking about adding support for it to my logging program so2sdr.
I am somewhat surprised that contest sponsors allow using it for either
assisted or unassisted entries, since detailed qso information beyond score is
posted. For example, for Sweepstakes, the online scoreboard tells you both a
recent qso number, and the entry class (aka precedence). These are both part of
the contest exchange. The qso number won't be exactly the number in the
exchange (the qso number posted doesn't include dupes), but the SS precedence
is.
To avoid needing a separate browser window open, I would have the logging
program pop up the latest scoreboard info when you dupe check a call. That
would give the user a good idea if the serial number or precedence you copied
were incorrect (enough to suggest asking for a repeat). Apparently this is ok
within current contest rules!
