We have been keeping the COSB/https://contestonlinescore.com service for
over 7 years 24/7 and we have seen a lot. But the most important thing I've
personally learned - the real leader has nothing to hide. Take a look at
our major contests' archive for the last 5 years at
https://contestonlinescore.com/archive/. There are a lot of familiar calls
always on the top: K3LR, KC1XX, W3LPL, K1TTT, K9CT, E7DX, D4C as
Multi-operators, 8P5A/W2SC, P44W/W2GD, K1LZ, EA8RM, N6MJ, KL9A, NP4Z,
CR6K/CT1ILT, CT1BOH, K5ZD, K1ZZ, AA3B, N2NT as single ops as well as many
other excellent operators (sorry if I missed someone due to a limited space
- all of you are great!) are always on a board. Moreover, some guys like
K3LR are constantly sharing their contest experience with others. Contest
shouldn't be a war. It should be a joy where everyone is part of the great
event.
BTW the online scoreboards usage in contests is not recognized as
assistance by ANY contest committee. I remember the NAQP guys were the last
ones to allow the new technology for every category - ASSISTED and
NON-ASSISTED around 2018 .
What I like in this discussion - the point about allowing scoreboard usage
only for guys actively contributing scores during the contest. We can
probably organize a poll to see what other guys think. IMHO watching a game
without being a part of it by contributing scores is dishonest. But let
everyone make their own choice. We don't want to push on anybody.
