Dmitri,

It tells me that many of the top players, who would be most concerned about
being afraid to reveal their scores, are not at all concerned about it. If
they are not concerned, then why are so many, who would not rank among
those top players, whining about revealing their scores? Who do they think
is taking time away from playing to analyze what other players are doing?
It shows that many top players are taking away the veil of secrecy and
making contesting more like RadioSport and less like a secret society. But
if you want to not participate in RadioSport and continue hiding behind
locked doors until the contest sponsor reveals the final results (months
later), that is your prerogative.
Isn't anyone concerned about the way prospective new hams look at the
hobby? We need to make amateur radio, contesting in particular, more
attractive to new hams. People in the younger generations want to see a
hobby that is vibrant, not stale. Old-timers may be satisfied with waiting
months to see how they compared, but younger hams are not. BTW, I am 81
years young and am sponsoring successful programs to get new hams on the
air.
Come on, guys. Let's enjoy the great hobby that we have and make it fun for
everyone.
I think this whole conversation is ridiculous and am going QRT.
Contest ebulliently,
__________
