From the webpage for the ARRL International DX Contest
(http://www.arrl.org/arrl-dx):
/"Certificates will be awarded in the top operator CW and Phone scores
in each category in each DXCC entity and ARRL/RAC Section and Division.
Printable certificates will be downloadable from
*contests.arrl.org/certificates.php*
<http://contests.arrl.org/certificates.php>. All Overall and Division
winners will be awarded a plaque (if sponsored) recognizing their
efforts. Plaques are sponsored by individuals, groups or clubs. "/
Last time I checked the Southwest Division is pretty far from Newington.
A division winner plaque in the ARRL DX contest is nothing to sneer at.
Also, in contests like Sweepstakes, I don't recall New England
dominating the top ten. /

Me, I am pleased if I have time just to participate for a few hours. /

Charly, I strongly agree with all of your comments, especially this
one. And because those in the favored region strongly dominate the
politics of contesting, the only change is that both they and ham
radio as we have known it will eventually die.
