The "Least favorite month..." thread has morphed into the n-th resurrection
of discussing whether or not SS (especially CW) needs to be adjusted. I'm
breaking it off to a properly new thread.

The perennially wise K0HB said:

"The exchange is exactly the right length.

"I have, however, heard some computer operators complain that you have to
be a radioman and copy some unpredictable information."

Right on! During a previous incarnation of this discussion I said, "Can't
we have at least one contest where you actually have to copy something?"

And for the most recent SS CW I said (on 3830scores.com), "Yes,
participation did seem a little down, and Sunday afternoon might be a slog in
SS CW -- but that's part of the challenge, finding new QSOs when
things get slow.
Are you up to it?"

Speaking of challenges, for us non-assisted op's -- and even for some of
the AMQ computer-game Assisted op's -- the Sweep will be a real challenge,
like in the old days, if ARRL follows precedent and makes the new RAC
Sections multipliers.

Years ago I noticed that all the islands in James Bay (at the southern end
of Hudson Bay) are in Nunavut, even though they are close to Ontario.
Anybody wanna do a Wintry Field Day expedition for SS?

73, Art K3KU
