While surely more rate is better than less rate, part of SS is dealing with
the low rates. I'm not a "top-notch" contester, but I've made top-10 in SS
(low power, but still...) and don't find Sundays much of a problem.
Possibly because I'm not the best op, I can still plod along, and on
Sundays, the gap between me and top narrows a little.
Tortoise and hare. Slow and steady wins the race. That kinda thing.
SS, the way it's been for most (all?) of my 50 years on the air, is perfect
- my favorite contest just the way it is.
Obviously, YMMV.
