CT conflicts with IBM 750C

I recently purchased an IBM 750C colour notebook, running IBM Dos 5 and tried 
to install a recent version of CT (8.21) on it. Unfortunately, CT did not
run and the machine provided me with the following message:

"Fatal Error
Previously installed software is neither VCPI nor DPMI compatible"

Anyone have any idea about the problem and how to fix it?
