CT8 and CT9 versions prior to 9.34 require your computer to be set to
UTC.
CT versions 9.34 and after have completely revamped the time-keeping
mechanism in CT. They allow your computer to be set to local time and
will use the DOS environment variable "TZ" to tell CT how to convert
local time to UTC. Read the release notes for 9.34 to understand the
settings of the TZ variable.
Remember that once you move your log forward to 9.34, you can not go
backwards. Older versions of CT stored the time in the log as local
to Redmond, WA (or whatever time zone the compiler developer resided
in). 9.34 and after actually store UTC in the log. A flag in the
.BIN file tells you whether the time stored in the file is UTC or not.
In other words, you can create a log with 9.27 and load it into 9.34
no problem. CT 9.34 will actually convert all the times stored in
your log to UTC. But when you try to read the same log back into
9.27, the times will be off by 7 or 8 hours (the time difference
between UTC and Redmond, WA).
