This is pretty common.

You need to convert to using the "LOOP" network method.

This method uses only one com port to do networking 
instead of requiring two as you have in your middle 
machine.

It's very reliable and in use at many of the multi-multi 
stations that are active today.  This is especially true 
of DXpeditions that usually only have notebook computers 
with one serial port.

Basically, the output of computer #1's com port goes to 
the input of #2's com port => the output of #2's com 
port goes to #3's input => the output of #3 goes back to 
the input of #1.  This creates the loop.  You can see 
that you can add almost any number of computers to the 
loop by conecting the inputs and outputs properly.

When you start CT you must use the -LOOP command line 
switch.  

Some say that the handshaking lines are not necessary 
but the same situation applies for output to input 
around the loop and so on.

Test it before the contest.
