I dusted off (and updated to version 9.51.001)) CT prior to the CQWW CW
contest. I made up a new keyer interface cable, added the comtsr1 batch
file for my FT 1000MP (setting comtsr1 for 4800 baud, n82) and checked to
make sure the interface worked. The key interface worked fine, but I found
out CT was still giving me the "Radio Timeout" message I never figured out
before (it showed up on my prior desktop and my notebook..other than that,
the radio interface has always been solid). Shortly after the contest
started, I found my radio interface was faulty. Doing a single band 10
meter effort, it was disconcerting to have every call I logged convert to 20
meters. I could change them back manually, but every time I changed the
logging line back to 10 meters, the radio would reset to 28005.00,
effectively losing my spot on the band. I finally logged off and disabled
the radio interface.

First question: Can anyone tell me what boneheaded thing I'm forgetting
that's keeping my radio interface from working?

During the contest, I logged KH6NO/M, who sent me zone 03. I faithfully
logged the contact and correct zone, and noted I got points for the contact.
Since I had already worked the US, and Zone 3, I figure this is a mistake.
When I change the contact to KH6NO/W6/M, the points go away. But that's not
what he sent...for that matter, I don't really KNOW if he's in California.

Second question: Can somebody tell me the accepted solution to this logging
dilemma? It's been suggested that the CQWW committee will fix my log
anyway, but I'm reluctant to knowingly file an incorrect log.

Sorry for the bandwidth, and especially if these topics have been covered
before. After a couple years out of contesting, I'm obviously a bit
confused.

Steve K4WA
