How can I create a RAM drive for the DVP so that the DVP data uses RAM and
not the harddrive?
Here's the environment:
P-III/1000 MHZ 256 MB/RAM WIN98SE
1. I have a 30 GB C: HDD and a D: CDROM
2. I am running WIN 98SE and booting to F8/Command Prompt Only.
3. I modified my Autoexec.bat with the line:
set DVPPATH=e
4. I modified my CONFIG.SYS with the line:
device=c:\windows\ramdrive.sys 1024 512 64 /e
Then, I rebooted, hit F8, selected Command prompt Only
and received the message that Extended Memory manager was not available.
I then modified config.sys to include SMARTDRV.sys and autoexec.bat
to include EMM386.exe, but the error came up: XMS manager not available.
What is needed to create the RAMDrive in drive E:?
Thanks,
Bill, N3RR
