Hi. Scott.

Do you use a different interface with CT and the other programs?
If so, do they use the same port, e.g. LPT1, COM1, etc.?  Are they both
homebrew or commercial units?  If it's two different units, I suspect RF
is getting in one and not the other.  The programs themselves would not
be the likely culprits except for using different pins in a given port,
which may have differing degrees of RF sensitivity. All things being 
equal, a serial port will generally have a higher degree of RF immunity 
than a parallel port.

I have a homebrew interface wired according to the CT Manual.  I have
found that even though the interface will work with no power applied to
it, its RF sensitivity virtually disappears when powered.  Otherwise I 
have experienced similar lockups with CT using several radios and it has
always been RF.
