sounds like a perfect alternative rather than having Ken write code to ask
what band do you wanna start on....fix_mine just takes a moment after the
dust has settled....

restart on the band that you were on before. You could always put in a
dummy QSO (like your own call) which could be taken out later with
fix_mine.exe. On VHF contests, the default is usually 2M.
