I realize that my suggestion is not 100% compliant
with the rules as they are now written... but (some)
software programs are not up to date (CT, possibly
others). N8BJQ knows that some software is not
compliant. The work around BJQ said to use last year
(and I assume this year too, since N6IG says the web
page is still posted) is to send separate serial
numbers per band (and not differentiate in the log)
between RUN and MULT. On an individual band, QSOs
could be from the RUN station, or the MULT station.
Serial numbers are sent as if you were M/M, but you
should follow the intent of the M/S rules in ALL other
aspects.
In the reference that N6IG sent, the last line is the
most critical - "It is very important that your log
indicates the correct serial number sent."
>From what I hear, the log checking software for WPX
has been upgraded this year, and they WILL be checking
individual serial numbers (both sent and recieved).
In previoius years, either serial numbers were not
checked, or there was a fair amount of leeway given to
the number accuracy. As long as you send an
(essentially) individual number, and it is logged
correctly, the WPX committee will overlook that you
are not 100% compliant with regards to "separate
numbers by RUN or MULT station".
While I am sure that you will be OK, I would suggest
you send N8BJQ a message letting him know that you
will be using CT for M/S, and to reconfirm that using
M/M style serial numbers is OK.
Best regards, and good luck! I will be taking a team
down to 6Y for a M/M effort in CW. CU on the bands!
