Hi Ken,

It sounds like you might be missing one important concept.  The settings in
CT.CFG are applied to a NEW .BIN file once only, the first time you create it. 
CT saves those settings in the .BIN file, and the next time CT loads the .BIN
file, it ignores the CT.CFG file and gets the settings from the .BIN file.

So once your .BIN file is properly configured, you don't need the CT.CFG file
again, until the next contest.
