Sounds great, what Karlnet licenses are going to be bundled with a 300$
product?
Question for Karlnet.... I love the idea of having one device to manage all
services... If a customer has more than one PC (pretty common these days) we
have to either purchase a 5 user mac license which means spending another $99
or purchasing an external router. Given the situation, most everyone will
purchase a Netgear router ($40 with rebate at Best Buy) instead of upgrading to
a 5 mac license? And with the netgear router one can hook up more than 5 pc's.
$65 for 1 mac TC license, $99 for 5 Mac....

When upgrading from single MAC to 5 user MAC will Karlnet credit us for the
single MAC version towards the upgrade? Since we can never use the single MAC
license again for any other device.

Also wondering... everyone on this list seems to really like Linksys... I used
to, but have had to replace every linksys router in our network because of all
the problems they have caused. ARP poisoning, frequent disconnections, overall
dysfunction... Has anyone else boycotted linksys routers?

Thanks,
Andy

Brett,

I have posted here before we are probably about 8 weeks away from having a
SUB $300 CPE complete with antenna (19dBi flat panel) and PoE!

Thanks, Kevin. Those are the answers I was looking for.

I am under a lot of competitive pressure with cable modems in my market and
I want to break into the consumer market more. We are running ISP Base
Station on AP1000 and Karlnet on RG1100's now. I love the features of
Karlnet and I'm not really willing to give those up from an infrastructure
standpoint, but our $480 install price is killing non-business sales.
Business sales are going well however.

So, I think this will be the strategy:

Business Class: RG1100 clients (new Karlnet CPE boards when the RG's dry
up) $480 install
Residential Class: NDIS clients w/ Turbocell license $195 install or $20
per month rent

I just wish there was an inexpensive karlnet license for WET11 (or something
similar) so we could compete with cable modem cpe pricing but not have to
run antenna cable into the house.

Brett
