I have seen a problem where if a customer uses IE to browse they can't get
out... but if they use My Computer and type in address it works.
This isn't an isolated problem with 4.45 though.

I use Hijackthis to remove Trojans and browser hijackers.
Then use Spybot to remove any others.
Also I use the CWS shredder which removes cool web search Trojans.
Has been very effective.

Has anybody had any problems with customers complaining that the internet is
down when browsing in Internet Explore in Windows XP but you can ping the
gateway with good replies. Then you can reboot and browse normally for a
period of time or sites then IE show site cannot be found or DNS server
error but you can still ping the gateway or IP addresses.

I have tried various winsock utilities with no luck.
Reinstalling Windows from scratch works most of the time.

This happens on about 6-7 computers out of 200 or so.

This is not happening only with Ver4.45 Karlnet it started about in FEB 04.

I don't think it is a Karlnet problem I'm just looking for HELP.

Thanks for any Help.

Phil,

The Hermes I and Intersil builds are combined, Hermes II is separate.

Thanks for the info. Can you confirm if different releases are required for
the different radio boards. We use Intersil based radios, from the
licence-it.com site it looks like we can only download the one file - is
this correct?

Thanks,
Phil

Hello all,

After discussing this with our main build engineer he states the version 5
of the Configurator must be used with the 4.45 kernel. This is most likely
the source of the issue. We will be adding am item to the release notes to
make this more clear. The ping fill test is enabled in version 5 so the
"engineering releases" should no longer be necessary. Thanks,
