Thanks to you and the others plus the use of the reflector, I
believe you have solved the problem I was having. I haven't really fully
tested the Omni-VI with NA yet, but prelims look extremely promising. I had
mostly been trying to emulate an IC-735. This WILL NOT work with THIS
Omn-VI. Apparently, when I had tried earlier to emulate an IC-781, I had
made some other error which kept things from operating. This afternoon I
tried it once more following John's (N0IJ) advice, and it appears that I'm
back in business with a pseudo IC-781.

Yes, Ten-Tec uses pin 6 on the Omni-VI for the external tuning knob. (But
but does not use pin 4.) But what I was referring to was connecting pins 4
and 6 together at the computer DB9 port. (As shown on page 64 of the
Version 10 book.) These remain connected and seem not to cause problems.
