"When I try to write the WPX logs to disk (alt-X,W) I get
this error message:
Error 07 occurred in module NA1039 at address 1C24:4AEA
This happens with versions 10.39 and 10.37 on my pentium at work.
(And I'm not using Master.DTA) But my 486 in the shack does not
have this problem. Is it a setup problem with my pentium or
a bug in the program?"
I just tried it here with my Win95 laptop booted into DOS mode
and it made the output files from a 4400 QSO log with no problem.
Error 7 means "out of memory. Might I wager a guess that the
Pentiums are Win95 machines (maybe operating from a DOS window)
and the 486 is a real DOS machine? There is one chunk of memory
called the default data segment that NA uses that gets filled
up pretty quick with lots of prefix multipliers. If Win95 does
not let NA have all of this segment, you run out of memory.
NA 10.37 successfully held 6000+ WPX QSOs here from the SSB
weekend, and 7000+ at WT6V. I can speak that at least here,
these were all DOS machines.
