When using the Callsign Database, is there a "wildcard" key to use to check calls? What I mean is, if you're missing one letter of a call, can you enter something like a ? (WD4?HZ) and have that pull up the Callsign Database with possible choices (WD4AHZ)?

No, there is no wildcard key. Implementing such a feature would slow down the searches, perhaps significantly, because each call pulled from the database would have to have the wildcard applied before a comparison was made.

I have mixed feelings about such a feature. In all the contesting I've done with call databases, only once or twice have I felt the need for a wildcard. Usually, if I get in the scenario Ron describes, "WD4" gets the window whittled down enough so I can figure out what's going on.
