It is with great reluctance that I find that I have to sell my Orion.
It is without a doubt the finest ham radio that I have owned. It was
purchased March 15, 2004. Since I live in a retirement apartment I
have used it 98% of the time on PSK31. I have not exceeded 35 watts
and I am a non-smoker.
I returned it to Ten Tec on August 30, 2005, for upgrading the
firmware (I use an Apple G5 and Virtual PC did not work for the
upgrade). TT upgraded the Orion by updating the syntheizer board,
the power distribution board, the ALC circuit on the I.F. converter
board, the MIC power supply circuit on the CPU/DSP board, added RF
filter to MIC cable, reflashed the chip and checked alignment and
operation and performed a 24hour burn-in. It is in like new
condition.
In short they performed their excellent service and returned it in
four days. I can not say enough for either the Orion or Paul Clinton
the service manager.
The Orion comes with a bag of goodies, hand mike, power cord and
accessory cable. It does not have the tuner.
The price is $ 2,500.00 plus shipping.
