Thanks to all who responded. It appears to be a propagated signal and
nothing to do with the Orion II or anything rfi related. Peaks here towards Eu
as
well and disappeared when MUF dropped after sunset. I just "tested" every day
the same time, which gave me the faulty impression that it was O2 related.
Tnx again. Sorry to have wasted the bandwidth.

Yes, Bob same here in North Central PA with my O2.
Very weird. The signals peak with my 3 el quad pointed Northeast (Europe)
and the good news is they disappear when the antenna is disconnected. I can
hear them very clearly when using my IC 706 mobile radio as well.
Reason for sending this direct is I have no idea what's causing the
phenomena but suspect it's not the O2 firmware.
It'll be interesting to see the responses to your note.

Subject: [TenTec] Orion 2 - Anyone else notice this?
>From about 18086 thru 18094 khz I am hearing some popping "digital
artifect"
signals, or so it seems. They are random, not associated with any signals
on the band nor settings of NB and NR. Typical s-meter levels S2 or so.
They are there no matter what version I have loaded. I have 2.033 preentl on
my O2.
Certainly not showstopping but annoying nonetheless.
Anyone comment?
