# FAST WARNING 'PRESTO' MESSAGE from the SIDC (RWC-Belgium) #
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------#
A solar disturbance may reach the Earth late on Aug. 13 or on Aug. 14. Indeed,
LASCO and EIT images suggest that a faint and slow (500km/s Cactus-derived
speed)
semi-halo CME originated from active region Catania #90 (NOAA 656) on Aug. 10 at
about 15:00UT (filament activation NW of AR #90 at 14:36UT, CME visible in LASCO
C2 at 16:05UT in the South quadrant). Available data lead us to conclude that
this event is Earth-directed, and therefore, that it may trigger active or minor
storm geomagnetic conditions.
