SIDC SOLAR BULLETIN 29 Sep 2004, 1523UT
SIDC FORECAST (valid from 1230UT, 29 Sep 2004 until 01 Oct 2004)
SOLAR FLARES : Quiet conditions (<50% probability of C-class flares)
GEOMAGNETISM : Quiet (A<20 and K<4)
SOLAR PROTONS : Quiet
PREDICTIONS FOR 29 Sep 2004 10CM FLUX: 092 / AP: 004
PREDICTIONS FOR 30 Sep 2004 10CM FLUX: 094 / AP: 005
PREDICTIONS FOR 01 Oct 2004 10CM FLUX: 096 / AP: 005
COMMENT: The solar activity is very low, with an X-ray background again at A
level after a slight increase yesterday. A small active region appeared at the
limb (NOAA 676), but this isolated sunpot is not expected to produce significant
activity. Except for a brief Bz reversal late yesterday, the IMF is largely
oriented Northward. The solar wind speed leveled off today at 400km/s, and is
now
decreasing. Therefore, we expect mostly quiet, and occasionally unsettled,
geomagnetic conditions in the coming 3-day period.
