SIDC URSIGRAM 50127
SIDC SOLAR BULLETIN 27 Jan 2005, 1240UT
SIDC FORECAST (valid from 1230UT, 27 Jan 2005 until 29 Jan 2005)
SOLAR FLARES : Quiet conditions (<50% probability of C-class flares)
GEOMAGNETISM : Quiet (A<20 and K<4)
SOLAR PROTONS : Quiet

PREDICTIONS FOR 27 Jan 2005 10CM FLUX: 088 / AP: 006
PREDICTIONS FOR 28 Jan 2005 10CM FLUX: 086 / AP: 011
PREDICTIONS FOR 29 Jan 2005 10CM FLUX: 084 / AP: 016

COMMENT: Only a single B7 subflare was observed over the last 24h. The
solar activity is still very low and is expected to remain so in the
next 3 days. The geomagnetic field has been extremely quiet (Kp below 2,
even at high latitude) in the past 24 hours. This reflects the slow (320
km/s) and weakly magnetized (<5nT) solar wind. Those conditions are
expected to last for one more day. Then, in the second half of Jan.28 or
on Jan.29, the fast wind from a low-latitude coronal hole, probably
preceded by a corotating interaction region, will start to influence the
Earth magnetosphere. Thus, the geomagnetic field may then become
unsettled to active, with occasional short minor storms, for 2 or 3 days.
