Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. There are no visible spots on the solar disk. There were no Earth-directed CMEs observed in available satellite imagery during the period.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low with a slight chance for C-class flares throughout the forecast period (30 Jun - 2 Jul).
Energetic Particles
24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at moderate to high levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels throughout the period.
Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at moderate to high levels over the next three days (30 Jun - 2 Jul). The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the forecast period.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters reflected a nominal solar wind environment. Solar wind speeds began the period near 380 km/s before exhibiting a steady decrease to end-of-period values near 340 km/s. Total field was steady, peaking at a period high value of 5 nT. The Bz component did not drop below -3 nT. Phi angle was predominately in a negative (towards) orientation throughout the reporting period.
Forecast: A non-recurrent positive polarity coronal hole is expected to begin HSS impacts starting on day one (30 Jun) following a SSBC from a negative to a positive phi angle orientation. CH effects are expected to persist through day two (1 Jul) before a SSBC to a negative sector, followed by a recurrent negative polarity CH HSS becomes geoeffective on day three (2 Jul).
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet.
Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at quiet to active levels on day one (30 Jun) due to a positive polarity CH HSS. Unsettled conditions are forecast for day two (1 Jul) as CH HSS influence continues. Day three (2 Jul) is forecast to see a SSBC to negative polarity, and then the onset of a recurrent negative polarity CH HSS. This feature is forecast to bring minor storm (G1) conditions.
