Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 Jan 04 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2693 (N19W34, Bxo/beta) was numbered this period and was inactive. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to remain very low all three days (04-06 Jan).

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background values.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to continue at normal to moderate levels all three days (04-06 Jan). The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to remain at background levels all three days.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were indicative of a return to a slow solar wind speed regime. Total field strength ranged from 1 to 6 nT and no prolonged periods of southward directed Bz were observed. Solar wind speed decreased further to settle around 375 km/s average speed. The phi angle was predominantly positive.

Forecast: A slow solar wind speed regime is anticipated to continue all three days (04-06 Jan).

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet all three days (04-06 Jan).
