Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 Jan 31 1230 UTC.
Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. A simple bipolar spot group emerged and was assigned as new NOAA/SWPC Region 2697 (S10E48, Bxo/beta). The region was generally stable, but did produce a B1 flare at 30/1739 UTC. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to remain very low, with a slight chance of C-class flares the next three days (31 Jan-02 Feb).
Energetic Particle
24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background values.
Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to continue at normal levels all three days (31 Jan-02 Feb) and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to maintain background levels.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were indicative of a slow solar wind regime. Total IMF strength ranged primarily from 3 to 5 nT and the Bz component underwent mainly weak deviations. Solar wind speed averaged between 325-350 km/s. The phi angle was predominantly positive until near 31/0000 UTC, when it switched to a negative orientation.
Forecast: A slow solar wind regime is anticipated to continue over the next three days (31 Jan-02 Feb).
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet.
Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet all three days (31 Jan-02 Feb), with a isolated periods of unsettled conditions likely on day one.
