| Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 Apr 03 1230 UTC. Solar Activity 24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low with no spotted regions on the visible disk. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available satellite imagery. Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low for the next three days (03-05 Apr). Energetic Particles 24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux continued at background values. Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to continue reaching high levels over the next three days (03-05 Apr). The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to remain at background levels throughout the forecast period. Solar Wind 24 hr Summary: The solar wind environment was at nominal levels. Solar wind speed decreased over the period from near 450 to 400 km/s. Total field was generally less than 5 nT and Bz was variable at benign values. Phi angle was positive.

Forecast: The solar wind environment is expected to be at mostly nominal levels over the next two days (03-04 Apr), then become enhanced on day three (05 Apr) due to influences for a polar-connected, positive polarity CH HSS. Geospace 24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet. Forecast: Geomagnetic field conditions are expected to be mostly quiet over the next two days (03-04 Apr) under an ambient solar wind environment. Unsettled conditions are likely on day three (05 Apr) as the Earth interfaces with a polar-connected, positive polarity CH HSS.
