Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 May 27 1230 UTC.
Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2712 (N16E34, Cro/beta) exhibited minor decay and produced only low-level B-class flare activity. Region 2711 (N05W77, Bxo/beta) continued to decay and remained quiet. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels throughout the forecast period (27-29 May) with a slight chance for isolated C-class flare activity on days one and two (27-28 May).
Energetic Particle
24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached moderate levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux was steady at background levels.
Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to reach moderate levels each of the next three days (27-29 May) and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the forecast period.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were at background levels throughout the period. Solar wind speeds slowly increased from intial values in the low 300 km/s range to around 350 km/s by the end of the period. Total field strength values varied between 1-5 nT and Bz became slightly negative at around -3 nT late in the period.
Forecast: The near-Earth solar wind environment is expected to be slightly enhanced on days two and three (28-29 May) due to the influence of a positive polarity, north polar-connected CH HSS.
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet throughout the period.
Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet on day one (27 May) under a nominal solar wind regime. Quiet to unsettled activity is expected on days two and three (28-29 May) due to the influence of a positive polarity, north polar-connected CH HSS.
