Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 Dec 07 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2729 (S05W57, Bxo/beta) was void of notable activity. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available satellite imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels on 7-9 Dec.

Energetic Particles

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal levels before becoming enhanced to moderate levels midway through the period. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background values.

Forecast: Moderate to high flux levels are expected on 7-9 Dec due to CH HSS effects. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels throughout the forecast period.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: The Solar wind environment was nominal until approximately 07/0430 UTC when parameters became enhanced due to a CIR ahead of a negative CH HSS. Wind speeds increased from near 390 to 450 km/s. Total field increased to 11 nT and the Bz component saw a maximum southward deflection of -9 nT. The phi angle switched to a negative orientation for the latter half of the period.

Forecast: Enhanced solar wind conditions are expected to continue throughout the forecast period (7-9 Dec) due to CH HSS influence.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at active levels on 07 Dec due to a CIR ahead of a negative polarity CH HSS. Mostly unsettled conditions are expected 08-09 Dec, with a chance of isolated active periods, due to CH HSS effects.
