Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 Dec 29 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low and the solar disk was spotless. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to persist at very low levels on 29-31 Dec.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 Mev electron flux was at normal to moderate levels this period and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux was steady at background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be normal to moderate on 29-31 Dec with a chance for high levels on 30-31 Dec. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the period.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were enhanced this period under continued (+)CH HSS influence.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to remain enhanced, but slowly weaken, over 29-31 Dec as CH HSS effects diminish.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field decreased from unsettled to active levels early in the period to quiet levels late in the period due to continued, but weakening (+)CH HSS effects.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet to unsettled for the remainder of 29 Dec through 31 Dec under weakening CH HSS influence.
