Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2020 Jan 05 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low this period. Region 2755 (S35E16, Axx/alpha) decayed to a single spot and remained quiet throughout the period. No Earth-directed CMEs were detected in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels on 05-07 Jan.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: Both the greater than 2 MeV electron flux and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux were below event thresholds throughout the period.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at normal to moderate levels. The the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the forecast period (05-07 Jan).

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters, as measured by the ACE spacecraft, reflected weak enhancements in the IMF. Total magnetic field strength reached 10 nT while the Bz component remained between +8/-5 nT. Phi angle was predominantly oriented in the negative sector.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to return to near-background levels on 05 Jan with the return of a nominal solar wind regime. Background solar wind conditions are expected to prevail on 06-07 Jan.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet on 05-07 Jan.
