Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2020 Jun 08 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2765 (S23E14, Cao/beta) exhibited minor decay this period and produced only B-class flare activity. A partial-halo CME was observed off the northeast limb in LASCO C2 imagery beginning near 08/0124 UTC. After comparing with STEREO imagery it was determined to be a farsided event. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low over 08-10 Jun.

Energetic Particles

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was normal to moderate and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels.

Forecast: Both the greater than 2 MeV electron and 10 MeV proton fluxes are expected to remain below event thresholds on 08-10 Jun.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: An enhancement in solar wind parameters was observed in the first half of the summary period. Solar wind speed values were steady near 350 km/s until around 07/2200 UTC, when a steady increase to end-of-period values near 475 km/s began. Total field strength reached 13 nT and the Bz component became sustained southward at around -5 to -8 nT after 07/1730 UTC. The phi angle settled in a positive orientation after 07/2130 UTC.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are likely to remain enhanced on 08 June due to continued CH HSS influence. Background solar wind conditions are expected to prevail on 09-10 Jun with the return of a nominal solar wind regime.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to isolated active levels.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet to unsettled on 08 Jun due to the influence of a CH HSS. Mostly quiet conditions are expected on 09-10 Jun.
