Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2020 Jul 06 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2766 (N06W05, Axx/alpha) was in decay and quiet.

Other activity included an approximate 18 degree wide prominence eruption off the SE limb, along with dimming in two areas near the NE and SE limbs. The prominence began lifting off around 05/0630 UTC with an associated ESE limb CME observed in SOHO/LASCO C2 imagery beginning at 05/1412 UTC. Initial model output suggested no Earth-directed component at this time, but further analysis is ongoing.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels 06-08 Jul.

Energetic Particles

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was normal to moderate and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux was steady at background levels.

Forecast: Both the greater than 2 MeV electron and 10 MeV proton fluxes are expected to remain below event thresholds over 06-08 Jul.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters remained enhanced under the influence of a positive polarity CH HSS. Solar wind speeds ranged from 429-515 km/s. Total field ranged from 2-7 nT while the Bz component varied between +5/-6 nT. Phi angle was oriented in a predominately positive sector.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to be mildly enhanced on 06 Jul due to persistent positive polarity CH HSS effects. A return to nominal solar wind conditions is expected on 07-08 Jul.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels under weak, positive polarity CH HSS influence.

Forecast: Quiet to unsettled levels are expected to persist for the remainder of 06 Jul due to continued weak CH HSS effects. Mostly quiet conditions are expected on 07-08 Jul.
