Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2020 Aug 08 1230 UTC.
Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity reached low levels. Region 2770 (N23E14, Hsx/alpha) produced a C1/Sn x-ray event at 08/0348 UTC. This was the first C-class flare observed since 29 May. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels, with a slight chance for low-level activity, on 08-10 Aug.
Energetic Particle
24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels, with a peak flux of 2,810 pfu observed at 07/1710 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background levels.
Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is anticipated to reach high levels on 08-10 Aug. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to remain at background levels for the forecast period.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters, as measured by the DSCOVR spacecraft, reflected a transition back to nominal levels. Total magnetic field strength was at or below 5 nT while the Bx component varied between +/-4 nT. Solar wind speeds averaged about 430 km/s. The phi angle was predominantly oriented in the positive solar sector.
Forecast: Solar wind parameters may undergo another weak enhancement from a small, positive polarity CH HSS on 08 Aug. A return to nominal conditions is expected for 09-10 Aug.
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet levels.
Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet with the potential for isolated unsettled conditions from weak CH HSS influence on 08 Aug. 09-10 Aug will likely be quiet under a nominal solar wind regime.
