Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2021 Dec 10 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was at very low levels under a spotless solar disk. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low through 12 Dec.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels with a peak flux of 1,280 pfu observed at 09/1740 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux maintained background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at moderate to high levels on 10 Dec followed by moderate levels on 11-12 Dec. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were nominal. Solar wind speed was below 350 km/s for much of the period. Total field ranged from 1-3 nT while the Bz component was between +2/-3 nT. Phi angle was predominantly positive.

Forecast: Minor enhancements are expected from the 05 Dec CME that will be passing mostly south of Earth on 10-11 Dec. Further enhancements from a negative polarity CH HSS are expected on 12 Dec.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet.

Forecast: Unsettled levels, with a chance for active periods, are expected on 10-11 Dec due to a potential glancing blow from the 05 Dec CME. Unsettled conditions are likely on 12 Dec with the onset of a negative polarity CH HSS.
