Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2022 Jun 28 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was low. Three new regions were numbered this period (Region 3042, N09W22, Cro/beta; Region 3043, S13E21, Bxo/beta; and Region 3044, S19E12, Bxo/beta). All three regions were inactive, consisting of only a few immature spots. Region 3040 (S12W25, Cao/beta) remained the largest and most active region on the disk, producing a single C-class flare (C1 at 27/1843 UTC) this period. Region 3041 (N15W83, Cso/beta) remained inactive as it approached the northwest limb. No new Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low with a chance for C-class flares on 28-30 Jun.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux continued at background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to reach high levels on 28-30 Jun due to HSS influence. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters remained enhanced under (-) CH HSS influence. Solar wind speed decreased from around 575 km/s to near 525 km/s. Total field averaged around 6 nT while the Bz component fluctuated between +/-5nT. Phi was negative.

Forecast: Enhancements to the solar wind parameters are expected to continue through 28 Jun due to lingering CH HSS influence and the possible arrival of the 24 Jun CME later in the day. Additional enhancements are possible on 29-30 Jun with another CME that will pass near Earth.

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels due to (-) CH HSS effects.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to remain at quiet to unsettled levels on 28 Jun due to possible interaction with the periphery of the 24 Jun CME and lingering (-) CH HSS influences. Quiet to unsettled levels are likely on 29-30 Jun with possible interaction from another CME that left the Sun on 26 Jun.
