Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2022 Jul 02 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Slight decay was observed in the trailing spots of Region 3040 (S13W69, Cso/beta). New Regions 3047 (S19E12, Cro/beta) and 3048 (S08E42, Bxo/beta) were numbered. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low with a chance for C-flare activity over 02-04 Jul.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels with a peak flux of 6,970 pfu observed at 01/1720 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to reach moderate to high levels on 02-04 Jul and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters indicated the onset of a CME, possibly from the filament eruption that occurred late on 28 Jul. Solar wind speed was low around 325-365 km/s. Total field gradually increased to 14 nT by 02/0100 UTC and remained there through the period. The Bz component was mostly south reaching -13 nT. Phi angle rotated into a positive sector between 01/2317-02/0400 UTC.

Forecast: CME effects are expected to persist through early on 03 Jul. A return to near nominal levels is expected by 04 Jul.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to G1 (Minor) storm levels due to CME effects.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at unsettled to active levels for the rest of 02 Jul followed by quiet to unsettled levels with isolated active periods possible early on 03 Jul due to residual CME effects. Mostly quiet conditions are expected to return on 04 Jul.
