Pete: I have noticed the same signal. It sounds quite raspy and is broadbanded, 10-15 khz wide. This has appeared as well on the low end of 80 and 40. It usually last lasts for a few minutes and then is gone. I believe it is southeast from IL using the Beverages but not sure.
