I'll bet there are many other things done that night and almost every
other time the place was visited.
Light switches turned on, and off.
Doors opened, letting in air.
Motion detectors.
All these things matter.
It may not be one of the the consciously "out of the ordinary" things
that changes it. Everything is suspect. Bumping into an object that
knocks a wall-wart could have changed it.
It could just be something is on the "hairy edge", and the temperature
happens to be just right at those hours of the day, until you go into
the house and the temperature changes.
How did you isolate it to one circuit? If you really know it is that
one circuit, that does limit the possibilities considerably.
