Well, sorta. My pump iis 270 feet down, and only 55 feet of that is in
casing. The rest is bedrock/karst limestone, which is probably adequate
shielding. The wiring is 2 feet underground until it arrives in my
basement. Wouldn't that be an adequate location for filtering? The
controller is in the basement, in any case.

But it will be inside a steel tube, so I imagine the effective length of the
wire is from the controller to the casing.
