Jim Brown, K9YC,  has a excellent Web site.  print the section on RFI and study 
it.  A few generalities can be thrown out, but if you read Jim's info two or 
three times, you'll better understand the nature of the beast.  I am not on the 
desktop now and don't have the address,  but Jim has mentioned it a few times.  
a search should bring it up.
Even a quick read will help you.
