My Toshiba mini-notebook is a LOT smaller than that desktop and was only a
couple hundred dollars as I recall.
I have an external 4 port USB switch since that mini-notebook comes with
two.

I have been using StarTech 4-port USB3 hubs with my laptops for several
years. They work great and are inexpensive. Occasionally some peripheral
doesn't like to be on a shared port but that doesn't happen very often. I
don't know a way to predict in advance what will work and what won't.
